What I Packed In My Minimalist Hospital Bag
We are packed and ready to go for baby girl! I’ve had a few questions on my Instagram about what I am taking this time, so I thought it would be easiest to share a list here on the blog.
Our hospital supplies everything for baby (clothes, swaddles, diapers, wipes, etc.) and everything that I will need postpartum. Anything we use (besides laundry) we can take home with us. Call ahead of time and see what your specific hospital provides, but it seems like this is the case with a lot of places. At the end of the day, I feel like we could walk in with nothing packed and feel just fine.
Minimalist Hospital Bag List
For Baby:
Muslin Blanket
Swaddle
Nursing Cover
Pacifier
Going Home Outfit (onesie, Pjs, mittens, socks, shoes, hat)
Headband (because I can't wait to put one on her!)
Burp Cloth (not necessary but nice to have)
For Mom:
Leggings + Shirt (to go home in)
Nursing Bra
Pair of socks
Robe (Regret not bringing one last time. Super practical with people coming in and out and breastfeeding. I bought a new one that I will wear afterward to make me feel somewhat put together and cute.)
Flip flops (for shower)
Toiletries Case (I just went to Walmart and grabbed travel-sized deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, makeup wipes, a comb, gum, lotion, and plenty of hair ties. Easier to grab than packing all my regular supplies last minute.)
For Dad:
Socks + Underwear
Sweats
Snacks
Phone Charger
I packed all baby-related things in our new diaper bag and was able to fit the diaper bag inside our carry-on suitcase along with our clothes. Since we will be bringing so many supplies home, I like that we can just roll the carry-on into our room, pull out the diaper bag, and fill up the extra space in the suitcase with whatever supplies they give us to take home.
I also wrote a note for myself of a few items that we will have to pack right beforehand. I keep it tucked in the handle so I won’t forget.
